My Top 10 Board Games of All Time (2025 Edition)

In this video, I share my personal top 10 board games of all time as of 2025. This list isn’t about what’s newest, most popular, or trending right now – it’s based purely on the games I’ve enjoyed playing the most over the years, and especially those that stood out to me throughout this past year. Some of these are games I keep coming back to again and again, others surprised me over time, but every entry reflects my own experience at the table rather than any attempt at an objective ranking.

Complete Beginner’s Guide to Elder Scrolls: BotSE • Gameplay & Strategy • How to Play Solo on Expert

In this video, I share a complete beginner’s guide to The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era, focused on helping new players understand how to build strong characters, plan ahead, and make good decisions during the early days of a campaign.

I talk through character creation, the foundations of a solid build, how to plan your stats and skill lines, useful synergies, which starting characters I generally recommend, and examples of pure Stamina and pure Magicka builds. I also cover town action priorities, how to get stronger efficiently, how to approach your first day’s town encounter, where to go on the overland map and why, and what matters most when choosing your direction. From there, I walk through a Day 2 conflict encounter with real examples for each starting character and skill line, look at how to delve safely and effectively, and explain practical ways to deal with enemy skills and avoid common mistakes.

I hope that this guide gives new solo players a strong foundation and makes your first Expert campaigns feel far more manageable, and just helps you have more fun with your game or gaming group!

New tutorial is up! This one is a how-to-play video for Dragons of Etchinstone, a solo card game by Joe Klipfel, published by Chip Theory Games. I cover all phases, card types, and core mechanics – and then go through two full encounters as examples to show how it all works in practice. Hope this guide helps you get started with Dragons of Etchinstone.

BotSE Helper: The Best Companion App for The Elder Scrolls

In this video, I take a look at Botse Helper – a fan-made companion app for The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era that ended up being far more feature-rich than I expected. It includes a full knowledge base, a campaign tracker, build tools, a province atlas with built-in voiceover, a setup randomiser, enemy movement helper, card database, and a bunch of other genuinely useful tools for both new and experienced players. I just wanted to give it a proper shout-out, walk through what it offers, and hopefully help more people discover a resource that makes learning and playing the game so much easier.

Rainboom vs Sunshine • Neon Reign

Here is the 8th solo playthrough in the Neon Reign hero spotlight series, this time featuring Rainboom vs Sunshine on Hard Mode. Sunshine turned out to be a serious challenge in this match, not sure if Rainboom was ready for it!

All 15 Classes Ranked (Base Game) • The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era

In this video, I rank all 15 classes from the core box of The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era using a scoring system I built in Notion. I rate each class across six categories – damage, survivability, utility, flexibility, simplicity, and how easy it is to upgrade to master, all based on my extensive solo Expert experience. I talk through what each class does well, where it struggles, and the little quirks that make them interesting to play. The goal isn’t to label anything as strictly good or bad, but to give a clearer picture of what each class brings to the table and hopefully help you choose something that fits the kind of build or campaign you want to play next.

Radiance: Solo Puzzle Adventure Card Game • Campaign Overview & My Thoughts

In this video, I take a closer look at Radiance, a solo puzzle-adventure deck-building game by Joe Klipfel, who you might know from Dragons of Etchinstone or Gloomhaven: Bugs & Buttons. It’s part of the Solo Game of the Month series by Best With 1 Games and is currently crowdfunding on Gamefound. I scroll through the campaign page and talk about the core idea behind Radiance, how the puzzle and deck-building elements fit together, and what stands out to me in terms of theme and gameplay flow. I also share a few concerns and practical thoughts from the perspective of someone who’s genuinely interested in the game and wants to see how it develops.

Burglar Class Guide • The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era

In this class guide for The Elder Scrolls: Betrayal of the Second Era, we’re looking at the Burglar, a fast, flexible, and loot-hungry class. I cover the class abilities, how to upgrade to master, racial synergy, stat allocation, the starting skill line, some strong pairings, and item choices. I also walk through a gameplay section to show how it all plays out in solo on Expert difficulty.

Rove: Anchorpoint • Campaign Overview & My Thoughts

In this video, I’m sharing a campaign overview and my thoughts on Rove: Anchorpoint – a new co-operative, narrative-driven board game from Addax Games, currently funding on Gamefound. It’s a campaign-based dungeon crawler-esque in the spirit of Gloomhaven, with tactical combat, story progression, and character development. I give an overview of the game’s mechanics, highlight what I find most interesting, and share a few mixed thoughts as well. If you’re on the fence about backing, hopefully this helps you decide.

Destruction Staff Explained • The Elder Scrolls Betrayal of the Second Era

The Destruction Staff skill line is all about raw elemental damage, crowd-controlling status effects, and destructive power. In this video, I go over each of the dice in the line, explain how the skills work, highlight some common rules questions, and share thoughts on how to get the most out of this explosive toolkit.
